Review Vista Vs Seven Vs XP

Sebelumnya, sudah pernah dibandingkan antara Win 7 dengan Win Vista, dan pemenangnya adalah Win 7. Tapi, masih ada pendahulu yang sampai berita ini diturunkan masih digemari hampir di seluruh penjuru dunia. Dia adalah Win XP. Para pengguna OS WIN pasti berpikir ingin "migrasi" ke Win 7 karena banyak gosip atau isu bahwa Win 7 adalah OS WIN yang bagus. Maka dari itu, diadakan tes performa, Win XP, Win Vista, dan Win 7. Siapa di antara ketiganya yang akan keluar sebagai pemenang, coba lihat tes di bawah ini.

Sebagai permulaan, tes ini dilakukan pada laptop Toshiba Satellite M45-S269 dengan spesifikasi 1.73-GHz dengan 1GB RAM dan sebuah hard drive 100GB. Karena berpindah dari XP akan menjadi pertanyaan bagi semua orang, pada tes ini digunakan Win XP Professional, dan Win Vista Professional. Semuanya menggunakan versi 32-bit dan semuanya dites setelah dilakukan format berulang kali.

Setelah itu, menginstall Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate, Windows Live Essentials (Mail, Movie Maker, Photo Gallery, Messenger), dan Picasa 3.5. Ini dilakukan agar hasilnya akan lebih nyata jika dibandingkan dengan tes tanpa menggunakan aplikasi apapun. Kemudian tes dilakukan dengan cara mencoba menyala-matikan setiap OS, serta peformanya. Tes ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dan dirata-ratakan hasilnya.



Start-up dan Shutdown

Hasil dari tes dasar ini sangat mengejutkan. Untuk perbandingan saat Start-up, dilakukan dengan cara menekan tombol power dan mematikan waktu ketika semua proses Start-up selesai. Untuk hal ini, Win XP adalah yang tercepat, tapi perlu diingat bahwa laptop yang digunakan dibuat pada jaman XP; mesin-mesin baru akan disesuaikan untuk Win 7. Tetapi, tujuan dari tes ini adalah apa yang dapat diperoleh dengan mengganti OS dengan Win 7.

Win 7 menyamakan kedudukan dalam hal Waktu Shutdown, mengungguli XP dengan beda waktu 5.5 detik, atau sebesar 32%. Pada tes sebelumnya, Win 7 melewati jauh Vista pada Start-Up maupun Shutdown. Kritik utama untuk XP adalah waktu Shutdown yang lama, dan itu telah terbukti. Vista saja lebih cepat dari XP. Tentu saja, untuk waktu Start-Up, XP masih yang tercepat.
